Djokovic to aim 6th ATP Finals trophy

Novak Djokovic

The 35-year-old Serbian tennis player became the first player to book his place in the final match of the Nitto ATP Finals.

It was Taylor Fritz who faced Djokovic in the semifinals clash. Novak had a 5:0 against American in head-to-head matches.

The first breakthrough in the match came in the fifth game of the first set, where Djokovic broke the opponent. Serb’s advantage turned out to be temporary. Taylor responded with a break immediately.

The first set was very equal, but there were mistakes by both tennis players. The set went to a tiebreak. Novak eventually took the lead with the most valuable rally and closed the set.

The second set got off to a promising start for Taylor Fritz, with the American breaking early and leading for the set. However, the American lost his control at the most crucial moment, while serving for the set.

In the end, it came down to the second tiebreak, where Djokovic again won the most important points of the match thanks to his high class.

Djokovic beat Fritz for the sixth time in his career after two tiebreaks. Novak will play in the final for the eighth time in the history of Nitto ATP Finals. He will try to repeat Roger Federer’s record and win the sixth title.
