The coach with a degree in electrical and telecommunication engineering had a some successful periods in Portugal. In 2016, with Santos, Portugal became the European champion, and in 2019, they won the first competition of the Nations League.
Jose Mourinho is considered the leading candidate to replace Santos in the post. However, according to the Portuguese media, the current coach of Roma agrees to work for the national team.
